Due to continued expansion, Comfort Bilt Windows & Doors is looking for a Production Manager to lead our manufacturing team in Mocksville, NC.

TITLE:  PRODUCTION MANAGER
 
JOB SUMMARY:
 
Responsible for the management of all production operations including supervisory direction, safety and housekeeping, product quality, facility staffing, forecast achievement, reduced manufacturing costs, and adherence to Comfort Bilt policies and procedures.
 
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Manages the total manufacturing function including supervision, OTL and TL.  Directs and plans production efforts to make optimal use of people and equipment in accordance to customer demands. Continually observes and reviews the manufacturing process and seeks improved methods to maximize labor utilization and maintain budget requirements.  Plans and outlines future production needs based upon sales forecasts on an ongoing and annual basis.  Supports the introduction of new products or improved processes and correlates production activity in conjunction with engineering direction.
 
  • Sets the standards of performance for production and monitors key indicators for corrective action and or improved performance.  Selects and trains a competent manufacturing staff.  Is responsible for proper training and development of all production employees.  Ensures proper progress reviews are held and that established goals are kept in sequence with overall company goals and direction.  Monitors work schedules to meet requirements.
 
  • Assists with the maintenance of inventories and inventory accuracy by conforming to sound inventory practices and procedures.  Performs surveillance of plant safety, cleanliness, and general employment conditions for the protection and maintenance of good employee relations.  Serves as a catalyst and anchor toward positive and uniform employee communication and develops sound employee moral characteristics.     
 
  • Coordinates with other divisions to communicate new methods that might be applicable and constantly seeks out technology that may assist process or product improvement.  Interfaces with Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality Control, Purchasing, Receiving, Shipping, Traffic, Distribution, and other support related departments to meet special needs or customer requests when they occur.
 
  • Promotes workplace safety by assuring universal precautions and safe work practices are used, assures fire/safety/disaster plans are established and communicated to all department personnel, participates in risk management assessments, maintains security and/or corrects unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.  Performs accident investigations as required and promotes the health and wellness efforts of the company.  Gives positive feedback to those excelling in the area of safety and participating in the many opportunities to get involved.
 
OVERVIEW
 
General supervision of production involving accountability for results in terms of costs, methods, and personnel.  Conducts periodic meetings with employees for the purpose of discussing quality, safety, productivity, and the goals of the area and company.  Develops an atmosphere in which employees have opportunities for self and team goal improvement.  Communicates to employees with positive and motivating techniques and seek out and listen to employee’s ideas and contributions.
 
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:
 
Broad knowledge of general manufacturing and plant operations with proven leadership success ---equivalent to four to six years or more of experience and education.
