Davie Chamber Celebrates Comfort Inn & Suites
with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Visitors to Davie County have a fresh new place to rest their heads following a total renovation of the Mocksville Comfort Inn & Suites. Owners Vijay Barad and Mike Barad and their families celebrated the completion of the eight-month project with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Davie County Chamber of Commerce on March 23rd.

Steve Talton, Chairman of the Davie Chamber Board of Directors, welcomed guests and thanked the Barads for continuing to invest in the community by renovating the hotel.

Mocksville Mayor, Will Marklin, added his congratulations. “On behalf of the town of Mocksville I’m extremely happy to welcome these guys to this facility,” said Marklin. “I know this facility has been here a while, but these renovations are just beautiful.”

“With the things the town and county are trying to do to bring people in from outside of the county and to put heads in beds, it’s wonderful to have nice beds to put them in,” he added. “We are really excited about what they have done to the hotel and we are looking forward to lots of people coming and spending their money in Davie County.”

Choice Hotels Area Director Christy Williams shared that the Mocksville Comfort Inn & Suites is the Barads’ second Choice property in Davie County. Their Quality Inn, now a Days Inn, won Choice Hotels’ prestigious Gold Award in 2001. She wished the Barads continued success.

Around 50 members of the community admired the hotel’s fresh new look while enjoying appetizers from Sagebrush Steakhouse and wine from RayLen Vineyards and Winery. Attendees who toured the facility were entered in a drawing to win a “staycation” package which included weekend accommodations at the Mocksville Comfort Inn & Suites as well as gift certificates to Sagebrush Steakhouse and O’Callahan’s Publick House and a free wine tasting for two at RayLen Vineyards and Winery. Congratulations to Cindy Rehmeyer from Inspirations Coffee who won the “staycation” package and to Tom Lentz of Davie Electrical who won a $40 gift certificate to Sagebrush.

“We are very excited to see the completed renovations and know that business and leisure travelers who stay in Davie County will be very pleased with these beautiful new accommodations.  Travel and tourism play an increasingly important role for every community so it is truly important that our businesses and their staff make a great first impression to all visitors.   The Barads have made a tremendous investment to improve their hotel and we wish them great success and believe it will result in increased occupancy.” Said Carolyn McManamy, President of the Davie County Chamber of Commerce.

The hotel is located at 629 Madison Road, Mocksville, NC. To make a reservation, call 336-751-5966 or visit www.daviehospitality.com or Comfort Inn & Suites Mocksville on Facebook.
